Members of the Amaryllis Choirs share two passions - a love of choral music and a commitment to enrich the community in which they live. Founded in September 1994 as a women's choir, for Christmas 2013 Amaryllis brought together a men's choir to broaden the scope of the music they perform. The two choirs, Amaryllis Women's Choir and Amaryllis Mens Choir perform separately or together depending on the repertoire selected.

Born in Germany, he trained at the acclaimed Regensberg Academy of Church Music before coming to Canada at age 17 and continuing his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music at the University of Toronto and at York University, Toronto.
After five years under the direction of maestro Uwe Lieflander, Amaryllis Women's and Men's Choirs have developed a rather extensive repertoire of traditional classical music as well as some well-known folk and Celtic pieces. As such, they continue to seek opportunities to share their love of choral music. In December 2016 Amaryllis performed Handel's Messiah in Trinity Anglican Church, Cornwall and a concert of various and familiar Christmas music at Knox Presbyterian Church, Vankleek Hill.

Together with orchestra, Amaryllis is venturing into Glengarry county to perform Handel's Easter MESSIAH on SATURDAY, APRIL 22, 2017 at 7 o'clock in St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, South Lancaster.

THURSDAY, JUNE 1 at 7:00 pm, Amaryllis will sing at the MAXVILLE MANOR
